I was a little late to the game to fully bask in the majesty of the Elm City music explosion circa 1980.  That blast of talent that arose and faded around the release of "It Happened But Nobody Noticed". But as a budding green-haired dork, I did play the record a good few many times on my walkman as I skateboarded to and from downtown.  Occasionally I might even be lucky enough to catch a live show with bands from the record.  Acts like the Furors, the TV Neats, the Saucers, Valley Of Kings, ADX and many more local heroes who I likely had heard through one of the college radio stations that tussled for position left of the dial.

Around '83-'84 I was old enough to get out of the house a little more. All ages shows, and free outdoor perfomances were high on the agenda.  One of these bands which I kept seeing and hearing on the radio were the Miracle Legion. I was just learning how to play guitar and their song the Backyard, being just three chords and a wee bit catchy, was one of theose songs I found myself playing over and over again.

Ten Years later in the mid nineties circumstances found Mark Mulcahy, the front man for the Miracle Legion, drifting into the social orbit of Northampton's premier venue, the Bay State Hotel.  A good friendship subsequently fomented.  Infinitely more talented than I, it has always been a real honor to share a stage with Mark on occaision.  We even managed to play the Backyard together more than a few times over the years.

One day I got a call from him.
- "Hey Man,  What are you doing right now?" he asked.
My answer
- "Nothing, Why?"
- "Well," he continued "Missy and I belong to this farm share where we go and pick our own vegetables."
Is he inviting me to go shopping?
- "So anyway" he continued "They have these pigs there, and ... well the other day I just couldn't help myself and I jumped the fence and ran around with the pigs. You want to know something?  It was a real blast!   So I began to think. Who do I know with a video camera who might want to shoot this.  And Henning mentioned this thing you shot at Bruce's place and I thought, hey!  Maybe Zeke could film me with the pigs.  So anyway.. we are heading over to the farm right now.  If you want to meet us there with your camera, maybe we can get some good footage. "

Would I?  Did the pope just shit in the woods?

So here you have it.  A video that was an absolute honor to make.
